Our innovative and skilled Process Engineers are key in the Reinosa Steel Plant’s success. Process engineers set product specifications, improve operations, and closely monitor manufacturing equipment and procedures. They work with people across all departments including production, management, sales, R&D, and customers to ensure international standards and customer requirements are met in every project. Additionally, these engineers continuously analyze the Reinosa Steel Plant’s workflow with the goal to continuously improve and innovate so we stay cutting-edge and competitive in all markets.

Process engineering is present during all stages of the Reinosa Steel Plant’s manufacturing. We have three primary process engineering departments: forging, foundry, and mechanical.

The Reinosa Steel Plant’s forge process engineers carefully monitor documents, drawings, specifications, and international standards and regulations. When customer specifications are not clearly defined, our forge process engineers offer solutions based on their extensive experience and our proven success. These engineers continuously analyze our forging operations to identify improvements and keep the Reinosa Steel Plant a reliable partner offering the most advanced products and processes. For each project, Reinosa Steel Plant’s forge process engineers define:

  • Chemical Composition
  • Forge Configuration
  • Forging Process
  • Ingot Size
  • Heat Treatment Process
  • Mechanical Tests
  • Metallographic Tests
  • Non-Destructive Testing

The Reinosa Steel Mill’s foundry process engineers combine our 100 years of experience with modern technology to achieve the best products and solutions for each project. They work closely with customers from the time of order placement to product delivery and advise and develop team goals each step of the way. Foundry process engineers combat challenges and provide alternatives to keep projects moving successfully forward. They use the most advanced technology available on the market, including:

  • MagmaSoft: programming for robust, innovative casting and cost-effective solutions in component design, tooling lay-out and production

The Reinosa Steel Mill’s mechanical process engineers play a key role in product development, design, and manufacturing. These professionals are responsible for assessing existing manufacturing processes to make sure all steps are operating effectively and efficiently. They also develop new manufacturing processes based on the specifications of new products. Duties include designing the overall workflow plan used in the manufacturing process, optimizing the layout of manufacturing equipment, and developing appropriate manufacturing procedures. They use the most advanced technology available on the market, including:

  • Cam NX: programming parts and simulators with lathe and boring machining configuration
  • Solid Edge: generating 3D models and 2D parts drawings

The Reinosa steel plant has specific units for forging and casting pieces with a worldwide activity scope, providing solutions to meet the needs of sectors such as shipbuilding (both mercantile and naval) electrical power generation, cement manufacturing plants, mineral preparation plants, steel and iron industries, heavy machinery components, and many more. We manufacture machined finished forgings (up to 70 tons) and castings (up to 140 tons).
